BOSTON—Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren is making an appearance in a new trailer for an upcoming documentary to be released by President Barack Obama's re-election campaign.

The 17-minute movie, "The Road We've Traveled," seeks to portray Obama as a determined figure who took on a series of difficult challenges during his first term.

The film is narrated by actor Tom Hanks.

The trailer features interviews with key Obama advisers including Vice President Joe Biden, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Warren, identified as a "former special advisor on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau."

In the two-minute trailer, Warren defends Obama's decision to intervene on behalf of the troubled auto industry, saying the future of America's manufacturing base was at stake.

Warren is hoping to oust Republican U.S. Sen. Scott Brown in Massachusetts.
