The latest trend in alfresco dining, the food truck, is getting a trial in Brookline’s streets. Selectmen are slated to discuss such issues as locations, parking, traffic, sanitation, and the possible effect on local restaurants during their Tuesday night meeting. Details of the pilot program are posted on the town’s website, www.brooklinema.gov, under the “News and Update” link, and include a map and the town’s preferences in mobile food vendors. The hearing time should be posted by tomorrow on the website. Barring any snags, permits for food truck locations could become available next month for operations from April to September. - Andreae Downs
