BOSTON—A former Revere police officer has been sentenced to four months in federal prison after pleading guilty to lying to FBI agents investigating corruption.
Prosecutors say 40-year-old Todd Randall was caught on video in January 2010 accepting a cash bribe in exchange for help in compromising an ongoing criminal investigation. Authorities say he was on duty and in uniform at the time.
The bribe was offered by an FBI informant and made as part of an ongoing corruption probe.
Federal prosecutors say when asked about the transaction in March, Randall denied it.
Randall was also sentenced on Tuesday to two years of probation.
Randall apologies in court.
