PROVIDENCE, R.I.—Rhode Island will soon nearly double passenger rail service to and from T.F. Green Airport.
Gov. Lincoln Chafee (CHAY'-fee) announced Tuesday that the new rail schedule takes effect on Nov. 14. It will add several additional stops on the rail line connecting the airport in Warwick with Providence and Boston.
Chafee says the new schedule reflects the airport's growing role as a regional transportation hub.
The new schedule was designed to complement flight arrival and departure times at the airport.
Passenger service to the airport began last year. The line is operated by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority.
