Lieutenant Governor Timothy P. Murray was hospitalized in Worcester last night for observation after reporting that he felt unwell from spending the hot holiday weekend marching in parades.

“After marching in five parades in 90-degree heat over the last three days, the lieutenant governor was feeling under the weather and decided to seek medical attention,’’ Kyle Sullivan, a spokesman for Governor Deval Patrick, said in a statement.

Murray, 42, was at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, which declined to release information on his condition. “He’s in good spirits, and there will be no further comment this evening,’’ Sullivan said last night.

Murray marched in parades in Auburn and Sturbridge on Saturday, Plymouth and Duxbury on Sunday, and in Chelmsford yesterday.

A Worcester native, Murray is married and has two daughters.
