LITTLETON, Mass.—State police said two men were killed after the driver of a pickup truck lost control and struck a bridge abutment in Littleton.

Police said a 35-year-old Robert Wedge of Spencer was on Route 495 North at about 4:30 a.m. on Saturday when he struck a guardrail on the right side of the road. The truck then veered across the highway, crashed into the abutment and caught on fire.

Police said a 27-year-old passenger, Kenneth Lovejoy of Grafton, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Wedge was flown to Boston Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

The crash remained under investigation Saturday.
