100 highest paid Newton city workers
Newton's school administrators and police officers dominated the list of the 100 most highly compensated city employees last year, according to a Globe analysis. In all, 44 of the 100 top-paid city employees were from the School Department. The Police Department represented the next largest number, with 40 employees. The data is from 2007, the most recent year available. Newton Mayor David Cohen did not make the top 100 list. He was paid $97,500 in 2007.
