Albany 59, Boston U. 49

BOSTON --America East Player of the Year Jamar Wilson had 14 points, nine rebounds and four assists to lift defending champions and No. 2 seed Albany to a 59-49 victory over Boston University in conference semifinals Sunday.

Albany (22-9) held No. 3 BU without a point for the first 7:18 of the second half to secure a trip to next the league's title game against top-seeded Vermont, which beat No. 5 Maryland-Baltimore County earlier Sunday.

Albany lost twice to the Catamounts in the regular season and has never won a game at Vermont's Patrick Gymnasium, going 0-9 all-time on that floor.

Wilson, who won his second straight Player of the Year Award on Friday, shook off a five-point first half to take the game over after the break. He also had four assists and three steals as Albany beat BU for the fifth straight time, three times this season.

Jason Siggers added 13 points for the Great Danes, whose defense held BU to just 5-for-25 from 3-point range.

Tyler Morris led BU with 12 points while Scott Brittain had nine points and nine rebounds as their team finished the season 12-18.
