Body pulled out of water in Onset after apparent drowning

The body of a drowned man was found off the shore of Onset Monday afternoon, Wareham police said. Authorities were called to Silas Point in Onset around 4 p.m. Monday after residents in the area noticed the man floating in the water, police said. The victim was pulled from the water, and he was treated on scene by emergency personnel. He was taken to Tobey Hospital in Wareham, where he was pronounced dead, police said. No foul play is suspected in the drowning. The identity of the victim was not released Monday night.
