Paul Halkiotis, Marshfield town planner for nearly a decade, has accepted the job of community planning and economic development director in Norwood. He departs April 22 and starts the new job the first week in May. The move was mainly a financial decision, Halkiotis said in an interview. He said his salary has been at the top step for more than five years, and that the Norwood salary range starts at about what he was making in Marshfield, which was $82,700. The Norwood range was advertised at $82,020 to $100,904. His new position will involve more economic development work, including attracting new business to the downtown and the industrial park, he said.
