Two men associated with former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez were indicted on murder charges Friday, the Bristol District Attorney’s office said in a statement.
Carlos Ortiz and Ernest Wallace are both facing charges related to the shooting death of Odin Lloyd in June 2013. They are expected to be arraigned in Fall River, but a date for the hearing has not been set.
Lloyd, a 27-year-old Dorchester man and semi-professional football player, was shot and killed in an industrial park in North Attleborough.
Hernandez, who has a house in North Attleborough, is also facing murder charges in Lloyd’s death.
Ortiz and Wallace had previously been charged as accessories to the alleged murder after the fact. Authorities say Ortiz, Wallace, and Hernandez brought Lloyd to the industrial park and executed him.
Investigators also believe Hernandez was involved in a South End double homicide from July 2012, but he is not facing any charges related to that case..
