The entire eastbound side of the Massachusetts Turnpike was closed briefly this afternoon, while State Police and Weston firefighters battled a car fire, State Police said.
State Police closed the highway because of the dense smoke, said Trooper Todd Nolan, an agency spokesman.
The right lane of the eastbound side remains closed. Motorists should expect delays, said Nolan.
No injuries were reported, said Nolan.
The fire was caused by mechanical failure, said Nolan.
No further information was immediately available.
