ROCKPORT, Mass. (AP) — An 83-year-old Rockport man who had been missing for several days has been found dead.
The body of John Crocker, who suffered from Alzheimer’s disease, had vision and hearing problems, and walked with a cane, was located shortly after 4 p.m. Saturday in a wooded area of town where he regularly went for walks.
Fire Chief James Doyle tells The Gloucester Daily Times (http://bit.ly/QWJDnU) that Crocker’s body was recovered in an area of briar patches and water.
Police say there is no indication of foul play, although the case remains under investigation.
Crocker had last been seen by a bicyclist at around 6:45 p.m. Thursday. That was the same time Crocker’s live-in caretaker contacted police to report that he had not returned home from a walk.
