Authorities seek person of interest in Manchester, N.H., explosion that killed two

A 38-year-old Manchester, N.H., man is being sought by authorities investigating a house fire and explosion Monday in that city that killed two people, officials said.

Manchester police are seeking the public’s help in locating Matthew Dion. He is described as 5-feet-8 and weighing about 200 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

Family members told the New Hampshire Union Leader that Dion is the son of the homeowners, but authorities declined to describe Dion’s connection to the home or the explosion. He is believed to be driving a white 2009 Nissan Altima.

The explosion is being investigated as a potential crime, according to New Hampshire Attorney General Joseph Foster’s office.
