Boston Globe journalists took home 16 awards from the Society for News Design’s digital design competition, including a silver medal for breaking news coverage of the Marathon bombings.
The Society of News Design announced results of its design competition this morning. The competition recognizes the best in online design, interactive, data-driven infographics, and multimedia from news organizations internationally.
“It’s a really gratifying thing,” said Dan Zedek, assistant managing editor for design. “We did a variety of work this year, and I think it helped our readers.”
Judges singled out the Globe for its expansive coverage of the bombings.
“It shows the real power of what a homepage display can actually have,” the judges said.
