A teen from Randolph, Massachusetts died in a snowboarding accident at Stratton Mountain Resort over the weekend.
WCVB said Tommy Hoang, 16, was at the ski resort with friends from school when he crashed into a sign near a wooded area. More from WCVB:
Stratton Mountain Ski Patrol found Hoang moments later without a pulse, but medical personnel at the Carlos Otis Clinic were able to reestablish one.
Hoang was flown by helicopter to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire, but he later died of his injuries.
A report from CBS Boston said that it was Hoang’s first time snowboarding.
WCVB said a vigil is being held for him at tonight at 7 p.m. at Randolph Middle School.
