The man involved in an alleged jailhouse alteraction with former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was released on bail Saturday.
Andrew Booker, 25, was being held at Bristol County jail on drug and gun charges, WCVB reported. Booker and Hernandez had reportedly been arguing with each other for weeks before Hernandez allegedly attacked Booker in February.
Booker’s attorney told the Attleboro Sun Chronicle on Mar. 21 that he does not plan to sue Hernandez or testify against him about the incident.
“He doesn’t want to go after Hernandez. He doesn’t want to be a rat,” Booker’s attorney Michael Maloney told the Sun Chronicle.
However, Maloney said that Booker may file a civil suit against the Bristol County Sheriff’s Deparment.
“He’s really disturbed he was allowed to be put in that situation,” Maloney told the Sun Chronicle.
