Three men pleaded not guilty in Worcester District Court on Monday to drug trafficking charges after state troopers allegedly discovered heroin and cocaine in their car during a traffic stop on Interstate 290 in the Worcester area Sunday night, authorities said.
Paul Henry, 24, of Dorchester, and James McLead, 23, and Jenmarie Rolon, 22, both of Brooklyn, were charged with trafficking cocaine and heroin and conspiracy to violate drug laws, said State Police.
Henry, who was driving the vehicle, is also charged with resisting arrest and driving without a license, State Police said.
State troopers pulled over Henry’s car for motor vehicle violations on the highway near the Worcester-Auburn line at 8:15 p.m. The three suspects were arrested after a search of the car allegedly uncovered 100 grams of heroin and 60 grams of cocaine in their possession, the statement said.
All three were held on $10,000 cash bail after their arraignments Monday. They are to return to court April 16, said Worcester district attorney spokesman Timothy Connolly.
