Officials are delighted that dredging of Cohasset Harbor is scheduled to begin this fall and be finished by the end of the year. “We have been working on it for a while,” said Selectman Chairman Fred Koed. “It is exciting. Right now depending on the draft of a boat, it may not be able to enter Cohasset Harbor at low tide without hitting bottom.” The project calls for dredging approximately 11 underwater acres, including the harbor, its entrance channel, and the entrance to Bailey Creek near Bassings Beach. Sand from the operation will be used to replenish the town’s Sandy Beach, Koed said.
