The Quarterdeck gift shop, perched atop pilings on Scituate Harbor, will close this Saturday after 45 years in business.
During that time, the shop survived both the Blizzard of ‘78 and the No Name Storm of ‘91, and was the site of filming for “The Witches of Eastwick” in the mid-’80s. But mainly, it was beloved place for South Shore residents to shop and create memories.
Owner Joan Noble and a few of her customers reminisced recently about the shop’s colorful history.
