The Friends of the Milford Upper Charles Trail will hold its second annual public forum from 9 to noon March 8 at the Ashland Community Center, 162 West Union St. (Route 135) in Ashland. The forum will provide information about the trail’s current status and plans for its future, and outline the benefits of a regional approach to developing recreational trails, according to an announcement by the organizers. The Upper Charles Trail is a planned 27-mile loop that would use abandoned railbeds to link Milford, Hopkinton, Holliston, Sherborn, and Ashland. Portions of the trail are already open, and local representatives will be at the meeting to give updates of its progress in each town. The Milford section of the trail has just 1 mile left to complete, and is used throughout the year by cyclists, walkers, runners, rollerbladers, skateboarders, cross-country skiers and others.
