Suspect arrested in knife-point robbery of South Boston convenience store

A South Boston man was arrested after he allegedly robbed a convenience store and threatened an employee with a knife, police said.

Officers responded to the Cumberland Farms on East 5th Street in South Boston about 11 p.m. Sunday after they received reports of an armed robbery, police said.

Peter Farrell, 22, was arrested Wednesday night and is being charged with armed robbery, assault and battery with injuries, and shoplifting, police said.

When the officers arrived at the store, the employee told officers he had been robbed at knife point by a masked white male in his early 20s. The suspect was dressed in all black, was 5 feet 9 inches tall, and weighed about 160 pounds, police said.
