Logan parking expected to be tight as families jet off for Feb. vacations

Officials at Logan International Airport are warning that it could be hard to find parking in the coming days as schools in New England close for February vacation and families jet off to warmer climes.

The demand for parking is “expected to exceed the number of spaces available,” according to officials, who are holding a news conference about the situation late this morning.

The officials advised people to consider taking the Logan Express Bus service or public transit to reach the airport.

The officials say they’re offering a Logan Express deal to make the service more attractive.

For a family of four traveling for a seven-day vacation, the bus service would cost $44. That compares with the Logan central garage cost, which would be $189, or economy parking, which would cost $108, the officials said.
