The newest members of the Boston Fire Department, 51 military veterans, will be sworn in as firefighters Tuesday at Florian Hall.
Mayor Martin Walsh will attend the 12:30 p.m. ceremony.
The recruits have been in training since September.
Boston Fire Department spokesman Steve MacDonald said many of the recruits reported to firehouses last week.
Eleven of the recruits helped fight a seven-alarm fire at 31 Massachusetts Ave. that caused $2.5 million in damage this weekend.
MacDonald said the class is composed of 50 men and one woman.
He said the fire department usually has at least two recruiting classes graduate each year.
