Duxbury High School students are preparing for their Feb. 7 performance at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Jill Noerenberg, one of the music directors, said in an interview that the schools try to plan a trip there every four years so students involved in the music program can have the opportunity to perform at the famed hall. “The students are excited about performing on that stage,” she said, and about 150 students in band, orchestra and chorus will leave by bus on Feb. 6 for the performance the following evening, a Friday night. Noerenberg said a guest conductor has been hired and a musical piece commissioned for the evening, titled “After the Dazzle of Day,” will be the finale. There are some complimentary tickets, and tickets are also available through the Carnegie Hall website.
