REVERE -- If Mohegan Sun wins a license to build a $1.3 billion resort casino at Suffolk Downs, the city of Revere would receive at least $40 million in annual payments. And that would allow the city to spend $1 million more each year on its public schools and $4 million in additional funds on police and fire protection.
Those were some of the details of a Host Community Agreement signed between the city and Mohegan Sun that drew more than 100 residents to City Hall Wednesday night. The gathering was the first public forum planned to explain the pact to voters ahead of a critical Feb. 25 referendum vote.
