This is a summary. To read the whole story subscribe to BostonGlobe.com

Red Sox fans, listen up: If you don’t have tickets to next spring’s opening day, when the new World Series rings will be awarded, you still have a shot. For the purchase of a $100 raffle ticket, a lucky Red Sox fan could win two box seats to the April 4 game against the Milwaukee Brewers and help out a good cause. Burgin, Platner, Hurley, an insurance agency in Quincy, has donated a pair of tickets to the Norwell Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice to benefit its new hospice residence, which opened this fall in Hingham. “This is an opportunity to participate in a fun activity while supporting an important new community resource that serves families throughout the South Shore region with end-of-life care,” Linda Brown, a fund development specialist with NVNA and Hospice, said in an interview. Raffle tickets may be purchased through Dec. 16 by calling 781-659-2342 or by visiting www.nvna.org.
