A Boston man was convicted of second-degree murder Tuesday for the 2009 killing of Carl Bonnie, the Suffolk district attorney’s office said. A Suffolk Superior Court jury found that Trevor Higgins, 39, shot Bonnie, 32, in the face with a shotgun during a drug deal in Roxbury on Nov. 12, 2009, District Attorney Daniel F. Conley’s office said. Witnesses placed both Higgins and an accomplice, Gregory Knight, in the Clifford Street apartment where Bonnie died of his injuries, prosecutors said. Knight, 31, pleaded guilty to manslaughter earlier this year and is serving a nine-year prison sentence, Conley’s office said. Higgins is facing life in prison with the possibility of parole at his sentencing Friday.
