Two people killed in I-95 crash on the Canton/Norwood line Friday night

A man and a woman from Wrentham were killed Friday night in a single-vehicle rollover crash on the southbound side of Interstate 95 in Norwood, according to Trooper Todd Nolan, a State Police spokesman.

Jerome Blomquist, 59, and Joan Pupi, 60, were pronounced dead on scene, according to a State Police press release. Blomquist and Pupi were aboard a 1998 Ford Explorer that crashed and rolled over several times north of Exit 11B, according to the statement.

State troopers from Foxborough Barracks responded at 10:30 p.m. to calls about the accident, and the Norwood Fire Department and Massachusetts Department of Transportation assisted in the response.

Sections of I-95 remained closed for three hours after the crash, said police.

No other details were released by late afternoon. The accident is under investigation by State Police.
