A local historian is expected to draw a crowd with his book talk on Nov. 25 at Milton Public Library on the history of Howard Johnson’s. Anthony Sammarco has spoken at the Milton library several times in the past, and his events typically draw more than 60 people, said adult services librarian Jean Hlady. “Anthony lived in the town for many years, so he’s very well known here in Milton,” Hlady said. The lecture will focus on Sammarco’s latest book, “A History of Howard Johnson’s: How a Massachusetts Soda Foundation Became an American Icon,” discussing how the orange-roofed restaurants spread throughout the country. The free talk will begin at 7 p.m.
