The Sharon public schools will implement a new teacher evaluation system this year, as all Massachusetts school districts must do, school Superintendent Timothy Farmer said. Level 4 schools – those struggling the most – and districts participating in the Race to the Top program are already using the system. Farmer called the new evaluation system a good one, saying it gives teachers 32 indicators of performance with specific language about what evaluators hope to see. “We’ve never really given teachers a road map to success like this before,” he said. The new evaluations also apply to administrators. Farmer said he had his evaluation done with the system last year to see what it would be like for the staff.
