There will be a guided hike at Upton State Forest at 1 p.m. Sunday. Joelle Vautour, a management forester for the state Department of Conservation and Recreation, will lead the hike, which will visit an area the department harvested about seven years ago, then continue along Park Road to view other areas that haven’t been recently managed. Along the way, Vautour will identify and discuss various plants. The free hike is expected to take two to three hours. Participants should meet at the forest headquarters building at 205 Westboro Road. For more information, send an e-mail to email@example.com or visit www.friendsofuptonstateforest.org.
