Kristin Harmel’s newest novel, “The Sweetness of Forgetting,” takes the reader from beautiful, present-day Cape Cod to war-ravaged Paris, circa 1942.
Tackling subjects as grim as the Holocaust and Alzheimer’s disease is a daunting task for even the most seasoned writers, but Harmel does a wonderful job, sharing details that enlighten — rather than overwhelm — the reader.
That’s just one of the reasons that Lydia Hart, owner of the Westwinds Bookshop in Duxbury, recommends the books to customers and friends.
