Betsy Buchbinder, a resident of Fuller Village, on Feb. 28 presented selectmen with a petition signed by 300 residents opposing construction of a proposed 300-unit housing complex on Brush Hill Road. Traffic was already very difficult on that road and the housing complex would make it worse, according to Buchbinder. Selectmen chairman Tom Hurley replied that the town isn’t likely to vigorously oppose the construction because of the state’s 40B affordable-housing law, which allows certain types of housing projects to circumvent local zoning. He added that developers would still be required to address traffic issues.
