Seniors at Danvers High School will sharpen their financial literacy skills on March 18 at the school’s seventh annual Reality Check Fair. The event, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., is an interactive exercise intended to prepare graduating students for the real-world challenges of balancing their income and expenses and making financial decisions that affect their future. Each student will be given a fabricated credit history, job, and salary. Using everyday financial tools, they will be asked to manage their money for a month’s time. People’s United Bank will serve as the lead organizer of the program, working closely with faculty and administration at the school, along with representatives from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and Management International. About 250 students will take part in the event, to be held at the Frederick E. Berry Building at North Shore Community College’s Danvers campus.
