Superintendent announces plans to retire

Carlisle School Superintendent Joyce Mehaffey  told the School Committee earlier this month that she intends to retire at the end of the current school year. Mehaffey, whose role comprises both middle school principal and superintendent of the school district, was hired in 2008 and assumed her current role in 2010.  Her contract expires at the end of June. The School Committee is currently soliciting bids from firms interested in managing the search for candidates to replace Mehaffey, with hopes of a contract in place for a new superintendent sometime this spring.
