Concerned citizens have launched a relief effort for victims of the fatal fire that occurred Jan. 5 at the Woodcrest condominium complex. Needed donations include household items, toiletries, and clothing. The relief effort also has a Facebook page, which can be accessed from the town website. Donations may be dropped off at any of the town's fire stations, the Remax Prestige office at 173 Chelmsford St., or the Coldwell Banker office at 34 Chelmsford St. In addition, a fund has been established for the fire victims at a local bank. Bush said individuals who wish to contribute should make checks payable to "Woodcrest Fire Relief Fund" and mail to Enterprise Bank, 185 Littleton Road, Chelmsford 01824. An elderly couple died and four others were injured in the condominium fire, according to the state fire marshal. Several other residents of the building's top floor were rescued from balconies.
