A 17-member team from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges last week was in Andover to assess and judge Andover High School. The team is evaluating the schools in seven areas: core values, beliefs, and learning expectations; curriculum; instruction; assessment of and for learning; school culture and leadership; school resources; and community resources. High schools throughout New England are audited every 10 years by a member of the association’s team of professional educators. A successful review will sustain accreditation for the high school; an unsuccessful visit may jeopardize that accreditation, according to Christopher Lord, principal of Andover High School.
