City launches campaign to support crime watch groups

The city is planning an aggressive outreach campaign to support Revere’s crime watch groups and promote the creation of new ones. Mayor Daniel Rizzo started the effort with the help of the city’s newly formed Neighborhood Advisory Council, local organizations, the City Council, and the Police Department. As part of the campaign, city officials, community volunteers, and members of the Police Department will hold meetings in different parts of the city to educate residents about the work of the crime watch groups and how to form them. The first of those meetings will be held on Nov. 13 at 6 p.m. in Paul Revere Innovation School, 395 Revere St. The meeting is for Ward 2 and 3 residents, but all residents are invited to attend.
