In 1946, workers decked out Gate A at Fenway for Game 4 of the World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals. Although the Sox ultimately lost the series, the 1946 team still holds a place in the park: Ted Williams's number hangs in right field and Johnny Pesky became the namesake of the right-field foul pole.
More than 60 years later, with pitchers and catchers reporting in just few weeks, Sox fans are looking forward to lining up at Gate A for a new season of baseball.
