The intersection of Tremont Street and Park Street
Clang, clang, clang went the trolleys down Tremont Street in 1895. As with today, the intersection of Park and Tremont streets was busy in the 19th century.
Traffic congestion led to the approval of the first subway in Boston in 1894. Now Tremont is a one-way, cars-only street.
