
Devin Lomon-Humes had been a prolific graffiti artist who was getting noticed by faculty at the Massachusetts College of Art. His roguish good looks had won him modeling stints. But on a spring day in 1999, he lay in a rehabilitation hospital, largely paralyzed from the neck down and his right leg amputated below the knee.
