Details of the Amy Bishop case
This police booking photograph released by the Huntsville, Ala., Police Deptartment shows Bishop.
On the day she shot her brother in 1986, Bishop left her home and burst into a car dealership, pointing her shotgun at employees, including former mechanic Tom Pettigrew.
I yelled, What are you doing? and she screamed at me to put my hands up. So I put my hands up," Pettigrew, 45, said in an interview at his home in Quincy.
Pettigrew recalled that Bishop said she had had a fight with her husband and he was going to come after her, so she needed a getaway car. Pettigrew said that Braintree police briefly questioned him and several other employees, but authorities never contacted him again.
