Retired Braintree Police Chief John Polio, now 87, made the call to release Amy Bishop in 1986 after the investigation into her brother's shooting concluded it was an accident. Since the Alabama shootings, Polio has said he has questions about the quality of the investigation performed in the 1986 shooting.
