The Rose Museum Gallery
Brandeis University plans to hire Sotheby's auction house as a broker to loan out works from the Rose Art Museums prized art collection, the school confirmed Thursday. The news comes on the wake of the school's stunning decision in January of 2009 to close its museum and sell its $350 million collection sparked anxiety on campus and a campaign to save the museum, and led to an about-face: The museum would stay open, but director Michael Rush would go, staffing would be cut, and some works might still be sold.
