Conn. inmate dies after assault by fellow prisoner
SOMERS, Conn.—Connecticut state police say an inmate who was attacked by another prisoner at the Osborn Correctional Center has died.
Police said 60-year-old David Dube of Hartford was assaulted on Thursday night in the main hallway of the prison at Somers. He died Friday of his injuries.
Police said they are investigating the attack, which was reported at about 9:30 p.m.
Police said Dube lost consciousness briefly after the assault, then revived and was taken to the UConn Medical Center for treatment. His condition worsened and he was transferred to Yale New Haven Hospital, where he later died.
