Guilty pleas for Clinton man, wife in porn case

NEW HAVEN, Conn. --A Clinton couple are facing federal prison terms for child pornography charges involving a girl who was told sexually explicit photos would help her modeling career.

Robert Gamble, 59, pleaded guilty Tuesday in U.S. District Court to child pornography charges accusing him of forcing a teenage girl to participate in sexually explicit photography sessions.

Renee Jones, Gamble's wife, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to produce child pornography Wednesday.

Prosecutors said Gamble began photographing the victim when she was 13 years old. While the sessions began with the victim fully clothed, the photographs taken of her became sexually explicit over time, with the victim posing nude and in graphic sexual positions, according to authorities.

Under a plea agreement, Gamble pleaded guilty to one count of production of child pornography, reduced from the original three counts of child pornography with which he was charged by a federal grand jury in September 2006.

Gamble's plea mandates a sentence of 15 to 30 years in jail, according to Thomas Carson, spokesman for the U.S. attorney's office. He is to be sentenced Aug. 28.

Jones' plea agreement calls for a five-year prison term when she is sentenced Sept, 26.
