Call goes out for donations
Mayor Robert J. Dolan is appealing to residents to contribute to the Melrose Emergency Fund. The purpose of the fund is to provide one-time help to Melrose residents experiencing financial emergencies. Over the past year, the fund has helped more than 80 families with basic necessities, including food, fuel, and utilities. The mayor’s office staff administers the fund, so every penny of every donation goes directly to aid. To make a donation, bring a check to the mayor’s office on the second floor of City Hall or mail your check to Melrose Emergency Fund, Mayor’s Office, 562 Main St., Melrose 02176. Checks should be made payable to “City of Melrose” with “Melrose Emergency Fund” written in the memo line. For more information, call 781-979-4440.
