The Natick firefighters’ union, Local 1707, is hosting “Bash for a Brother’’ on March 3 to raise money for the family of Joe Slattery, a 1983 Natick High School graduate and 14-year Natick Fire Department veteran. Slattery is undergoing cancer treatment and has three young children. The event will be at the Natick Elks Lodge, 95 Speen St., from 7 p.m. to midnight. Tickets are $20 and can be picked up either at the downtown fire station or at the door. For those who can’t make it but want to contribute, visit www.natickfire.org and click on the “Donate’’ link. The event’s organizers are also collecting raffle and silent auction items; contact information is on the website. Alternately, checks can be made out to the Joe Slattery Family Fund and mailed to the Joe Slattery Fund, c/o 15 Grant St., Natick, MA 01760. The fund is set up through Natick Federal Savings Bank.
