The town has made some changes to its new shuttle transportation program in an effort to make it easier for residents to use. The Acton Rail Shuttle, which runs between the West Acton Fire Station parking lot and the South Acton MBTA station, now sells day passes for $3. Passes can be purchased directly from the shuttle driver. The $3 includes parking for the day and a trip to and from the train station in the MinuteVan Rail Shuttle. Also, passengers can now book the Dial-A-Ride service online. The program dispatcher is still also available by phone Monday through Friday between 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. Dial-A-Ride serves a 3.5-mile radius of Acton’s Town Hall. All trips need to be booked 24-hours in advance. The service is available to all adults and children 12 to 18 with a parent’s permission.
